ACAPULCO - SPRING BREAK '03!!!

1.  Ali, Jen and I in our hotel room the first night before we left for Palladium.  This was after our long day of plane flights and my horrible fear on flight #2 from Mexico City to Acapulco, when I thought I was going to die - hey, it was very scary!!  Then we headed out to Palladium, the club that held 5,000 people.  My pics of the club didn't come out, but picture a huge stadium sized building, with one wall all windows to the ocean and a HUGE disco ball hanging from the center, with stadium seating tables all along a semicircle around the dancefloor.  (Remember, I'm an engineer, not an english major, so bear with me)
2.  Jen, Ali and I at O Blue - the club designed like a submarine with a HUGE fish tank in the wall with people dressed as mermaids swimming around in it!  This was on our second night, possibly the most fun night, definitely the most amazing looking club - hey there were people swimming around in a fish tank in the wall!!!  (that picture didn't come out either, of course)   Oh yeah, and I got my hair braided that day.
3.  Jen, me and Ali at Baby O - the night I got sick from my overexposure to the sun. (I swear that's what i was sick from!)  This was our third night and the last day that I lied out in the sun.  Definitely was a little red and everytime anyone came near me, I jumped a mile - cause any touch to my skin resulted in extreme pain.  The numbers we had were a contest.  Each girl had a different number and was supposed to find the guy with the same number and vice versa in order to win.  There were probably 5,000 people at this club too, needless to say, no one won the contest!  (Although I really tried!)
4.  View from our hotel room.  Beautiful isn't it?  Do you see the palm trees????  BEAUTIFUL.  I was sitting on our balcony in a bikini in the shade when I took this pic (definitely not like snowy Bing).  Even when I was avoiding the sun, I was still enjoying the warm weather!
    I stopped taking pictures at the clubs after that day, because I was too disgustingly red to look at myself. (just imagine ten times more red then the pic before - then you can understand why I stopped bringing my camera around with me!)  Anyways, we went to Disco Beach that night - the club that was on the beach (hence the name) where we sat at a patio table on the sand and just walked two feet to the dance floor "inside" (there was no back wall to the club, it was just open to the beach).  Imagine, late at night and it was warm enough to sit out on the beach...  Definitely competition for my favorite club of the week.  Oh yeah, there was a Mardi Gras theme there and we got free glow in the dark shot glasses! - mine broke, but we won't discuss that :(
    The night after that, we went to Enigma, a slightly smaller version of Palladium - the least exciting club, so we went back to the hotel lobby/bar to finish off the night and had some hot Dominos pizza, from the delivery guy on the bike who waited out front our hotel for the drunks returning from the clubs with the munichies. (smart guy!)
5.  All the neat signs at Senor Frogs - really awesome restaurant - on our last night.
6.  Our waiter, Ali, Jen and I - and our mammoth Strawberry Djaquiries! 0:-)  Yes, I took more pictures after stopping for a few days - my redness went down a bit so I decided to bring my camera along on our last hurrah (how do I spell that?)  Senor Frogs was probably the greatest restaurant that I've ever been to, although I liked Ali's meal better than my own :-p and definitely the coolest restaurant ever.  It was raised up from the beach, with one side completely open to the ocean (my hand is actually on the railing in this picture).  Once again, imagine having dinner at 8pm and it being warm enough to be half outside - wearing pretty close to nothing 0:-)  (hey Jen didn't tell me what it really was until afterwards!)  After that we went to El Alebrije - the club we couldn't pronounce. ("El  A-Lee-Bray" - I think)  Definitely a cool club, it fit 2,000 people (although I feel like there was more), it was one really long room with stadium seating tables going up along both long sides, in between was the dance floor with the bars in the center.  Huge screens with music videos, messages and effects, and stages on either end (for dancing).  Oh, and how can I forget about the coed bathrooms with the see-thru stall doors?!  Definitely planned on leaving early to wake up at 7am for our flight the next morning, but definitely could not leave until just before 4am (when it closed) because we were having way too much fun - possibly the most fun night of the trip (did I say that already about another night?  Ah well!)
    ...and then we left :( the next morning.  The flights home were much less scary though, I didn't even flinch on the landings!  Can't wait for the weather here to be as warm as it was in good ol' Mexico!

Last but not least, our song:

Original Version by G.B. Leighton

Acapulco Nights

Half way down in Mexico
on the Pacific tide.
All along the coast beneath the mountain side.
People say de nada,
the sand is warm and white.
You and I belong.
Acapulco nights
Acapulco nights

<chorus>
Shine like sun
We'll make the way
When day is done
Sleep until noon
My sweet lover
Dream of another
Acapulco nights

Tacos and cervesas,
Tequila that'll curl your hair.
We'll stroll down the playa breathe the ocean air.
Baby pack your suitcase,
I will book our flight.
Tomorrow we'll be gone,
Acapulco nights
Acapulco nights

<chorus x 2>

Acapulco nights

Acapulco nights

Acapulco nights

My Personal Version

Acapulco Nights

Half way down in Mexico
on the Pacific tide.
All along the coast beneath the mountain side.
People steal your watches,
the sand is warm and white.
You and I get drunk.
Acapulco nights
Acapulco nights

<chorus>
Pain from sun
Drink and play cards
Hotel then clubs
Sleep until noon
Aloe vera
Jen, just dont touch me!
Acapulco nights

Tacos and cervesas,
People that will braid your hair.
We'll stroll down the playa breathe the ocean air.
Wear clothes from Jen's suitcase,
Ali's booked our flight.
Tomorrow we'll be gone,
Acapulco nights
Acapulco nights

<chorus x 2>
